News and Information
FAREWELL AND WELCOME
Farewell to some of our children who are leaving for big school - we will miss all of you! Welcome to our new starters. We are very much looking forward to you joining us; we have lots of fun activities and play planned. We know that this can be a difficult time for children and parents who may be separating on a regular basis for the first time and we will do all that we can to help with the transition. The staff team are very experienced and caring and will provide lots of reassurance and comfort to your children.
Please feel free to contact us on 07979553472 during the morning if you need any reassurance that your child is settling in and is happy, or if you have any concerns. We regularly tweet the children engaged in play and activities throughout the morning, so please follow us on twitter - @wplaygroup

LEAVERS
If your child is leaving at the end of term please let Ceri know as soon as possible so that the place can be allocated to a child on the waiting list. Thank you.
THE CHILDCARE OFFER
We are registered with the Childcare Offer.
30 hours of education and childcare are offered to eligible working parents of 3 and 4 year olds per week. Parents can apply via the Family Information Service (FIS) website.
Please contact the FIS if you have any questions: 01446 704704 or visit the Childcare Offer Web Page using the link on the right hand side of this page.

We are also registered with the 2 year old Flying Start Childcare Offer for eligible children.

Fees from September 2024 will be £16.00 per morning and we accept workplace voucher payments and are registered on the government tax-free childcare scheme.
LOOKING AFTER OUR ENVIRONMENT
We seek to reduce our negative impact on the environment in the following ways:
-
not using single use plastic bottles
-
reducing the purchase of packaged foods
-
recycling of paper and packaging
-
using waste materials in craft activities
-
recycling of food waste
-
use of the water butt for the garden
-
growing flowers and vegetables to encourage bees/butterflies/bugs
-
teaching good husbandry to children through stories
DATA PROTECTION
We have updated our data protection information in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (2016) and Data Protection Act (2018), and you can review our privacy notices using the links on the right hand side of this page.

HEALTH AND SAFETY
Please leave prams in the foyer at the start of the morning rather than bring them in to the main hall at the start of the session. Doing so prevents children being able to leave the main hall and prevents accidents.
If you are the last to leave, please tell a member of staff who will lock the entrance door behind you.
VOLUNTEERING OPPORTUNITIES
Can you spare a few hours per term to assist in escorting children out into the local community? Do you have a special interest, skill or knowledge that can be shared with children to enhance their learning? Please see Ceri if you would like to get involved.
